Professor Nora Hanagan studies political ideas. She is particularly interested in the ideas that have animated American politics and history. Her book, Democratic Responsibility: The Politics of Many Hands in America, examines whether individuals bear responsibility for harms that are caused by social institutions and processes. She is also affiliated with the Program for Public Discourse and the Philosophy, Politics, and Economic Program. When she isnt chasing her young children around, she likes gardening and hiking.
