I received my Ph.D. in Womens and Gender Studies at Rutgers University. My scholarship focuses on Indigeneity, media and performance arts, minority formations under Japans imperialism, and corpo-materialist ethics of sound and sensation. My forthcoming book, Vibration of Others: Resonation and Corporeal Ethics of Transnational Indigenous Soundscapes (Wesleyan University Press, 2024) studies how Ainu artists curate transnational Indigenous soundscapes to address racism and environmental crises in post-Fukushima Japan and beyond.
