Montek Singh is a computer scientist who is interested in the design of digital hardware systems, focusing on ways to make them run faster, consume less energy, and need less effort to design. His recent work has focused on designing new types of camera sensors, called event sensors, which capture changes in the scene only where and when they are considered interesting by the application. In this course, he will focus on the foundational scientific discoveries related to light (from Newtonian optics to Einstein’s relativity), and the way light has been recorded in imagery (from tile mosaics to paintings to digital media), manipulated, and displayed.
